The Book Thief Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Genre: Historical Fiction Premise: This book is a wonderful historical fiction novel that takes place during World War II. It is narrated by Death and follows the young Liesel and her life in Nazi Germany. From heartwarming friendships to unexpected twists and turns the story is definitely worth the read. Why we chose this: This book is one of our favorites we’ve read in book club and definitely our favorite World War II book. We loved the unique style it was written in, the character development, and the friendships. This book was different than any other book we’ve read. First of all, it’s narrated by Death. It’s a very unique style to be written in and we enjoyed the perspective. We also really liked the characters develop and seeing them change throughout the story.
